This will be a bit lengthy, but I wanted to share my outstanding experience with this place. I called to schedule my first appointment which I had no issues with doing so. Upon arrival, there were no protestors but I've heard that you're likely to encounter with a few on weekends. A security guard moved the cones out of the way to give me a place to park being that the lot was full. When you go in, they ask if it is your first or second appointment which is was my first. They ask for your ID, and give you paperwork to fill out with a number on the paper that you'll need to listen for when they call you. After about an hour, they called me to the back where you then pay your $100 deposit. After, you do an ultrasound which literally took about 3 minutes. They ask if you want to see the baby & hear the heart beat but you do not have to. After, you wait to get your vitals checked & bloodwork done. They give you papers on both abortion methods (pill or procedure) & then you go back to your car to speak with a counselor over the phone about the methods. She was very helpful and gave me all the information I needed. (They most likely will recommend the surgical procedure which I agree). You then come back inside & speak with the doctor about your choice. He answers any questions you have and he makes sure you chose the best method for you. Lastly, you schedule your second appointment which I was able to get in 2 days later. The day of my second appointment, when I arrived a very polite security guard had my driver fill out a short paper just for identification. She also offered us water. I went inside & checked in. Shortly after, I was called to the back (they call you by name for your second appointment) where you then pay the remaining balance ($500.) I then waited, where a nurse called me to explain to me that I needed to take about 8 pills and she informed me on what each one of them was for. The pills are to prep you for the procedure. After taking them, they order you to put on a pad because one of the meds causes bleeding, and you go into a dim room and wait for the meds to kick in. The other ladies I was waiting with were very polite and we actually even held a few conversations. It's no uncomfortable at all. About an hour had passed and I didn't realize how drowsy I was until the nurse came get me and I stood up. She told me it was time for my procedure and for me to put a fresh pad on. After that, I went into the procedure room and laid down. The 2 nurses were very nice and informed me that it would take only 1-3 minutes & they offered me IV sedation which I wanted. It's a very minor tingling feeling when the sedation in put into you, but nothing painful or major at all. After that, i remember closing my eyes and i was out. All I remember after that is waking up to a nurse telling me my ride was here and she helped me walk to the car. You will sleep most likely the rest of the day into the night (this is the most well rested I had ever been since finding out I was pregnant) & they suggest you eat a heavy dinner when you wake up. There was no pain at all and I have no recollection of the procedure. Didn't even see the doctor come in. It has been 2 days since my procedure and I'm feeling amazing. Still no pain or discomfort & they do send you home with pain meds just in case for cramping. This place is 11/10.

I came here many years ago, came again recently, but not sure because I was scared of a medicine I used and online saying it can cause defects. Went through the ultrasound ($100) and waited to speak to dr. I didn’t want to take much of his time as he seems very busy (lots of woman here) but he was more than willing to hear my concern and address that the med is fine and I’m healthy (mind you I’m high risk from previous preterm) and if I wanted to keep baby, didn’t see a risk in me. Made me feel like if any place would want to lie and make me feel like there could even be a small risk, they could have taken advantage and obviously dr and nurse assistant were convincing me TO KEEP! So, I fully trust this dr (as I said he did perform procedure when I was young, no issues) and believe he has best intention. I wouldn’t trust another clinic around. And this place is easy to mix up with another clinic as I did navigating and they still took me in late! I can see how dr might be seen as “odd” (older Caucasian man) but I think it’s woman’s perception based on their own emotion and nerves this situation obviously can cause. He’s knowledgeable and seasoned from experience. I’m currently 12 weeks and my obgyn also confirmed what this dr told me about no issues or risk. I found most all staff to be friendly.

It ran very smoothly and was grateful for the financial assistance. Im thankful this place is here to help during a very stressful time. Security protects you from protestors and I feel they are running this place very very well. I wouldn't have had other options so again, Im truly grateful for this help and support.

Such a great experience, truly. There were NO protestors on either day I showed up (Saturday/Monday)Visit #1: Consultation ($100)-A security guard moved HIS car for me to have a spot to park.-The women at the front desk were very quick in getting my info, but I didn't feel rushed or overlooked and overall the whole experience was just very calm. I thought it would be a very somber visit but it wasn't anything like that.-They called me by a number for a majority of the time (didn't bother me)-the ladies in the ultrasound room were very quick and to the point and kind of cold, but I didn't mind. One nurse practically had her door on the handle waiting for me to wipe the goo off my stomach - it took less than 5 minutes!-Dr. Rosenfeld and his nurse were very informative. It CAN feel rushed because they are insanely busy, but they'll take as much time as you need to answer any questions. I was scheduled for 1:30 and left around 3:30. The waiting time is long, but it's very quiet in the waiting room, I just brought a bookVisit #2: Received the pills ($500)-I got there at 9:50 and left at 11:30am...the waiting times are long but again, everyone makes you feel very comfortable and not rushed.-They called me by my name this time-All of my questions were answered and again, everyone was so nice and pleasant, not one person had an attitude or made it seem like you were a burden for asking questions.-I took the pill in front of Dr. Rosenfeld, was explained how the meds work, then was on my way.Overall, the nurses and everyone made me feel very...okay. As in a friend letting you know everything will be alright. Very reassured and overall good about my decision. I felt like I was in a regular doctor's office for a regular appointment and not once did I feel alienated. I highly recommend this place. It's very clean and they are very organized. Lovely ladies who work there!

This place is amazing! I would def recommend this place to anyone. I searched high and low for a available appointment and HWC was able to get me in right away. As soon as I entered the parking lot I was greeted by the sweet security guards who helped me park, I instantly felt protected. I never encountered any protestors out of my 3 visits. This place is very busy but has a very efficient system and hard working/ patient employees who make sure all the needs of the patients are met in a orderly safe way. Due to my circumstance I had to come to 3 visits. 1. Preg confirmation/ meeting with doc 2. Laminaria placement 3. Surgical procedure. Each and every time all my questions were answered and treated I with great care. Yes they do call you by number on your first visit but thats only to protect the patients who have not made informed decision yet, thank you for that.On my third visit for the procedure I got super nauseous from a med and I can’t count the seconds that the lovely nurses came to help me and to start IV medication. There was no delay in care. They reassured me, comforted me, and gave me all the things I needed. It was my first time pregnant and a very hard decision for me and HWC made this difficult process not traumatizing. Everyone here is a true angel! Thanks so much!

Overall, it was definitely a pleasant experience. Everyone I encountered was nice and the process went smoothly. I posted a super detailed review on Yelp if anyone is wanting more insight on what happens during the first/second appointments! The character limit was not enough here.

This is a great safe place, sweet nurse's very kind and caring no judgment. They make you feel comfortable in they take care of you. I never want to experience this aging but things happen in we all have free will. I'm going to be more careful in dont make mistakes like this aging to put me in a situation like that but thanks Houston woman clinic for taking care of me

I went to planned parenthood first and they were absolutely unwilling to work with my schedule. Luckily I did more research and found this place. A week after calling I was able to get the first appointment for the ultrasound which took a few hours as the clinic was busy, then 2 days later I was able to have the procedure. This was not my first time having an abortion, and I was a bit traumatized from the first one which was at a different place. Here, however they gave me a bunch of medication for nausea, pain, and a sedative which made me really drowsy. After taking the medication I was told to sit in a dark room with other women but most of us were falling asleep if not already asleep. Before your appointment you’re told to eat a light breakfast but I didn’t because I was nauseated which was a mistake as I did end up throwing up. A nurse came to check on me and make sure I was okay and get me settled back in the waiting area. I don’t remember how much time passed as I’d fallen asleep but eventually a nurse came and got me, and I remember being taken to the room where the procedure was to take place. I was told to take my pants off and I remember putting my legs in the stirrups. The nurse asked if I wanted IV sedation to which I said yes. After that I don’t remember anything except waking up in a chair to a nurse telling me my ride was there. Everyone who worked there was friendly, and I had a pleasant experience. I was worried it would be painful especially considering how my first abortion went at a different clinic a couple of years ago but it was a completely different experience and I’m grateful for that. Thank you Houston Women’s Clinic!

Yesterday I had my surgical procedure and it was nothing compared to what I expected. The procedure was so easy and honestly I don’t remember much of it. The medication they give you for anxiety definitely helped me. The staff was so nice and I recommend this clinic to anyone whose considering an abortion

I usually do not rate but I could not let this go unknown. This place is amazing. Yes I was scared and didn’t know what to expect but after meeting these ladies my experience turn out way better then imagined. It’s a busy place but they seem to move as quickly as they can when patience allow them to do there job. The procedure was so fast and for me painless. Please listen and follow there instructions and I promise you will find no issues. The worst you will experience here is the protesters but they protect you from them as well just ignore and keep moving along I promise they will seem like ants in a hill when it’s all over. Thank you ladies!!!

Everyone was so nice. I love that they give you all the necessary medication to make sure you’re comfortable. Me having really bad anxiety the volume helped a lot. By the time the nurse gave me my IV i don’t remember anything after that. I did not feel a thing for anyone who is worried about pain...all i really remember is them telling me to move my legs and the rest was blacked out. Next thing i know they were getting me dressed and walking me to the recovery room. The recovery nurses seemed kinda rude and annoyed but i guess you have to be more firm dealing with patients on pain meds who have no idea what’s going on lol. Overall, it was great experience from what i can remember. Great job ladies and to the doctor. Very comforting and professional. I’m actually kinda shocked to see any negative reviews on here because this place is awesome. They’re probably bitter protestors leaving false reviews so don’t be discouraged to anyone reading them.

I think we all go thru the same emotions once we are in the office kind of guilty but with a set mind. My procedure was done 5 years ago but I can recall both appts and the treatment. Everyone's review is on point and I'll always kept referring this clinic
20:09 04 Feb 21
I can honestly say, I’ve been a patient of his since 2016. He is very knowledgeable and caring. He has an awesome team of RN’s that are very versatile in his office. I love that they are all compassionate and nonjudgmental. Very informative and are very much concerned of your overall health when in his office. The doctor will tell you no if it’s not in the best interest of your health and does follow up with you. They all take good care of you. He is only one doctor running his office. Himself, as well as his RN’s do their absolute best to move with urgency and consistency. I applaud them all hands down. You guys are the best. If you’re having doubts, I hope this review comforts you in your decision. They truly care.

I took my girlfriend to this clinic few days ago .She was supposed to have 2 appointments. She only ended up having one. After the first one which was the ultrasound ,they told her she wasn't pregnant, that they could not find anything . I just want to know if the clinic's ultrasound is 100% accurate .Thank you .

To the women who are having second thoughts please don’t this is the best and most trusted place to go to. My review will be a bit lengthy because I’m covering first appointment and second and the surgical procedure. My first appointment was lengthy I had to be there at 12:15 and didn’t leave till about 2:45 I called them crying when I found out I was pregnant they gave me an appointment 5 days later and the person behind the phone was very comforting letting me know that I have rights and I can make whatever choice I want. Following up with my appointment I checked in gave my ID signed paper work on medical history also consent to the sedation and procedure and they will call you by a number on the first visit only but it’s just to insure your privacy. Be aware that you mustGo alone and do this alone as Covid times they won’t let you bring in a family or friend in unless they are your guardian (under 18). The women don’t usually speak amongst themselves I’m assuming because it is a hectic time but on my second appointment along with those who also had their second appointment were more open to talk amongst one another which makes the process smoother we as women need that comfortability if you see someone nervous or scared please be kind. In the first appointment you do ultrasound, blood work , speak to a counselor about your options such as pill or surgical abortion and how you feel they also give you many facts on both procedures , and set up your second appointment they also give you a number 1-800 for financial assistance which in my case reduced the 500$ by a lot.Second appointment was expected to be 2-3 hour wait I went in at 11am and left around 3:30. This time they call you by your last name you do another ultrasound, take 8 pills for anxiety , antibiotics, nausea, & sedative and cervix dilation. They tell you to wear a pad because your cervix will be dilating in order to prepare you for the surgical procedure within about 30 mins I was drowsy and fell asleep the nurse came and got me told me to put all my personal belongings in a locker this was probably around 2:20pm I checked my phone before I put it away. Next they walk me in the room I undress my lower half rolled up my hoodie got an IV sedation and within seconds I was back asleep all I remember was putting my legs on the stools as if your at a normal obgyn appointment and they covered my lower half with a big sterilized paper . I have no memory of the doctor coming in or having the procedure done(therefore no pain) no memory of leaving the room or getting dressed after .I do remember being walked in to another room along with the other women who were either before or after me we were monitored until our rides came . They called my best friend at 3:00 and she was there by 3:30 . You leave with a white bag of pain killers and birth control prescriptions along with after care instructions. I even had the nurse walk me out to the car and I asked if her everything was done and she said yes. Within 24 hours I feel great and normal a little bleeding as if I were on my period but no cramps or pain. Yesterday I slept all day and finally had an appetite I was 6 weeks and 5 days and the morning sickness never let me eat or sleep. I have hope and faith in this clínic and would recommend to whoever needs the service they are affordable and give financial assistance staff and doctors are very nice

This place is amazing. I didnt come across a single staff member that wasnt accommodating, patient and kind. They're knowledgeable and met my endlesss with detailed responses and even made me laugh. (I unfortunately ask a lot of questions). My first visit was quicker than I thought it would be based on other reviews. I actually thought the calling by number instead of name was respectful of privacy. I appreciated that. Once you get back and you speak one on one, they address you by name. They give you options and make sure your 100% sure about your decision. They didn't rush me or make me feel like less of a human. If anything I felt the family atmosphere of the staff. It was encouraging. They explain every process before and as it's happening. I saw social distancing in every part of the facilty in every room I went into. I dont remember much of the procedure, but after it's done they comfort you and monitor you. They walk you to your car and make you feel like family up to the last second. I didn't feel judged or rushed.Things happen in life and I'm glad humans exist that respect individual circumstances and perceptions. This place is just that.

I wanted to leave a review to hopefully make someone else feel better about their decision. This place is amazing and made me feel so at ease. The process is very quick. Yes they call you by numbers and call several numbers at a time which made a few others feel impersonal, however whenever a nurse, counselor, doctor etc. actually speaks with you one on one they are very kind, answering all your questions and providing reassurance. I believe the system they have is what makes the process go by so quickly considering the high volume, which I very much appreciated because I was ready to get it over with. I was able to schedule both of my appointments within 5 days of even finding out I was pregnant and now I feel so relieved. When I went, there were no anti-choice protestors the first day and only 1 the second day (I went during the week), and I've heard there can be more on the weekends, but there is a fence around the parking lot which I believe they are not able to enter past. So I would just keep my windows rolled up and drive right on past them. The security guards were also very nice, said he sent peace and love to me and my boyfriend when I was dropped off on the 2nd visit. As far as the procedure, that also went by very quickly. We got a first round of various meds that served different purposes, and then about an hour later you go to the procedure room and you can opt for IV sedation, which I did, and about 1-2 minutes after that I don't remember a thing! I barely remember walking to the car and then got home and slept for like 5 hours lol. I haven't felt this well rested in almost 2 weeks due to the pregnancy symptoms, so again I just feel so relieved by how the whole process went, how it was over so quickly, and how much better I feel now. THANK YOU!! Y'all are awesome.

I highly recommend this place. I recently had my procedure done yesterday, everything went by fast and easy. The nurses were calm and helpful.

I recently had my surgery procedure done here on Saturday and when I say the staff was so nice and calmed me down this was my first time ever making this decision no judgement, just support, I highly recommend this place! I was so nervous my second visit the nurse gave me pills one of them was big I couldn’t swallow that’s how nervous I was, she told me to just take a deep breath and relax and chew the pill until I am able to swallow, ms ivy at the front desk was so sweet to me please don’t listen to any of the negative feed back here in the reviews the staff is not rude at all they are here to help. I got there at 7:52 on a Saturday I got the pills around 8:30 and that’s really all I remember some one helped me walk to the room to get the procedure done once the nurse put the sedation in my IV I was totally out I don’t remember a thing from that point and I didn’t feel any pain and I was 12 weeks 1 day when I got my procedure done. I was so out of it I didn’t even know I was in the car going home. I felt good afterwards just cramps but they give you a bag with pain medication to help thank you all at the women’s clinic I really appreciate it

Great staff! The doctor was really nice and answered all of my questions and concerns. My favorite person was the counselor, she made me feel so much better about my decision. If ever had to (which I hope not) I would definitely choose this place again. The only down side was that you can’t have emotional support (your partner, friend) with you during the procedure. Other than that, the nurse held my hand and that’s really all that I needed.

I was very nervous seeing as it was my first time but they made the whole experience less scary and comfortable. They make sure you are 100% sure about the decision you are making and inform you what they are doing every step of the way to ensure you know what is going on. They run very smoothly and effectively considering how many patients they seem to have on a daily basis. Thank you to all the ladies that made this whole experience quick and the least painful it could be (Atleast for me).

Originally I wasn’t sure where to start with this whole thing that I was about to go through. I called a clinic that was nearby to get information, she was rude as if she didn’t want to help me or give me information about how these procedures worked. Yet I set up an appointment anyway. Something didn’t sit right with me, it made me feel like whoever would do my procedure would be just as careless to my body and I didn’t want that, so I found this website for the Houston Clinic. From the website alone sold me to at least give them a call, further than my liking but it’s not like I would be the driver anyway. I called and spoke to a very nice woman who asked where she could direct my call, which led me to another nice woman who actually answered all of my questions and assured me that I had called the right place. I set up an appointment with her and showed up a couple days later. I went during the week so there were no protesters. There was a nice woman at the door from Baltimore, with a rainbow vest on. I guess her job is to help you get to the door if there are any protesters, she was very kind and checked out ids at the door. When you go in they will ask if this is your first or second appointment, check your Id and you will fill out some paperwork. They will call you by number, if you come with someone they have to wait in the waiting area as there is no room for them back there. You will then get your ultrasound, I had a nice young lady who did it quick and easy. She asked if I wanted to see the baby or hear it’s heartbeat. I declined because I felt like it would become real to me. After that is a little bloodwork. I forgot to breathe cause I was nervous so my blood pressure was high, the lady who did it for me reassured me and we both laughed cause I knew damn well I should’ve been breathing so we tried it again and it was normal. After that was counseling, I was walked through both procedures, I was shown with a little model how the surgical procedure would go, which is the option I chose and advise others to do as well. It is much easier to handle in my opinion. I came back the next day, they called my number. I went to the back again and was told to swallow about 7 pills and to the go into the bathroom and put on a pad. Afterwards you sit in a dark room so that you can fall asleep, there are about maybe 12 others who are also sleepy in there as well as they wait to be called for their procedure. Time goes by fast when you’re sleepy, site says you could be there for hours but it truly didn’t feel like it because everyone was so swift. There was one mean lady but she didn’t handle me. She was telling us that we couldn’t bring our belongings to the procedure room but she said that to people who were already sleepy and drowsy...so I put my things in a locker before I could even be so sleepy. 2 hours later a lady comes to get me, she is nice...she helped walk me to my room where I was about to do my procedure, she told me to undress the bottom half and then this part is barely memorable from the meds. But I’m sure they had me covered cause I know I was just out like that, I put my legs on these stirrups and a nurse walked in and asked if I wanted more sedation, I said yes because I didn’t want to remember this. You really don’t need the sedation because of how sleepy you are from the other pills but I didn’t want to take any chances. I never saw the doctor, which made me feel a little better cause I wished he was a she, but I know he was there. The only part of the procedure I felt was when they took out whatever holds you open to get to embryo out. It was not painful, it was more like you felt someone trying to interrupt a good sleep. This to me is better than the pill option cause why feel all that and be in pain? I was done by 1130 cause I got there early. Once I was finished the nurse helped me get dressed, I got pain meds and a BC prescription. A woman with a rainbow vest helped me into my drivers car and I was on my way home! Slept for 5 hours and was able to go skating when I woke up. Very happy I came here!

The first Appominet I had I was super scared. I saw other women and I knew I was safe. The nurses are so nice and the women I talk to are amazing. I'm so happy I found this place. They even give you places to call if you need help with paying. I'm really thankful.

Writing under a fake profile to keep my personal information private. Lengthy review, be prepared lol. I believe some of the reviews written were spam so I wanted to be as detailed with mine to help other women who are just looking for honesty during this hard decision.I Visited the clinic this week for an abortion and I’ve never done so before but I’d say this is as good as it gets. The first day I went on a week day, an older Hispanic lady was very helpful and nice. I had an ultrasound, was offered to view it, had blood work done, met with a counselor. I was happy this was one on one because I had alot of questions! All were answered and I didn’t feel rushed. Once that was complete I was sent back into the waiting area until I was called back to meet with the previous nurse again. I met with her and the Dr. in a very brief meeting, all of my concerns were addressed. The dr went over a couple things that came back with my vitals but he said all was well to proceed with the procedure. Very nice man. I was in and out in about an hour and a half to two hours.I came back on a Saturday for my actual procedure. Protesters were outside so it was bit creepy. I Was called back to complete payment, received funding from NAF to help with payment call them if you need help. After paying I met with a woman who gave me multiple pills. She explained what each was for, she talked very fast but I didn’t confuse that with her being rude. Received BC script & pain meds to take home. I was directed to put on a pad and shown to a dimly lit room. Yes there are other women in there. (no it’s not a horror scene like others are explaining it, we were all there for the same reason) The medication made me drowsy, as was explained prior to taking the pills, so I’m not sure how much time I was in the room but an older Hispanic woman, NOT the lady from the first day, took me into the procedure room. Here is where my ONLY complaint from the entire experience was that this woman was VERY rude! She instructed me to undress from the waist down and I was explaining to her, rather groggily, that I was bleeding and I didn’t want to just pull out the bloody pad so she got a small trash can and slammed it down beside me. After that I got into the table, by then an African American woman was sitting beside the exam table inserting a small IV into my hand. she was so much more pleasant. I explained that I could feel myself bleeding and she calmly explained what was going on and that this was normal, something about my cervix softening or something . The Hispanic nurse was on the other side of me she lifted my hand and I had blood on it, she then came and set a wipe on my shirt. I’m literally feeling like an airhead, the other nurse had my other hand, so I guess wasn’t moving fast enough cleaning my hand so she grabbed my hand and cleaned it. I don’t understand what the fuss was about, maybe her coffee hasn’t kicked in. I Think she was trying to put one of those finger monitors on my hand. Whatever the other nurse put into my IV burned and made me fall asleep so the last thing I remember was the A.A.nurse telling me what to expect and the Hispanic nurse saying the doctor was on his way in. I don’t remember anything about the procedure at all. I’m happy about that because I’ve heard about the emotional scars things like this leave. After the procedure I was being helped into my clothes and went into another room where Jessica helped me. She’s a DOLL!!!! Loved her, very helpful and compassionate! She went into he restroom to check my bleeding, then gave me juice. She checked on me a few times although I was literally probably snoring the entire time. I was very sleepy. I was woken up and told my ride was here. Jessica literally held my hand until I got to the car, told me to put something on my stomach if I could eat and to not forget to follow up. She was the absolute best!!!! I’d recommend this place to anyone! Oh and price before the assistance I received from NAF was $50 for ultrasound and $500 for procedure. Thank you HWC!

Be sure to have, not only your I.D., but also the person with you needs to have their I.D., as well. The price was $50.00 for the first visit, and $500.00 for the second. My friend was able to receive help with funding, and only had to pay $365.00. That comes with a prescription for birth control pills. It is best to go during the week, and as early as possible. The weekends are very crowded, and you will most likely be screamed at by protesters. The first visit was on a Saturday. So, it was wall to wall crowded. And the parking lot was full so we had to park about a block away. The woman at the front desk wasn't very friendly. The second visit was on a weekday morning. The waiting room was not packed. And I was able to park right in front. The staff was much friendlier on the weekday. The tiny bathroom is right in the waiting area, so it can sometimes get a little smelly while waiting. It took about 3 and a half hours the first visit. And about 2 and a half hours the second visit, as far as I can recall. I received a call when my friend's procedure was done, and picked her up on the side of the building. She opted for sedation, slept right through the whole procedure, and has no recollection of it.

Main reason I chose this clinic was because it had million great reviews online. The most helpful thing was that the staff made me feel comfortable during it all. Was a quick judgement free zone experience. Very experienced Dr.

Posting anonymously, due to the nature of the visit. I feel the need to post about my experiences, because I rely heavily on review's before choosing where to go - so maybe my review will help you too. I have been here twice. Nobody wants to visit a place like this even once- but life happens. The first time was 6+ years ago. I had a surgical abortion. The second time was just recently. I chose the medical (pill) abortion this time. Both times everything went smoothly. The staff are all caring and sweet. They answer their phones basically at all times, and give you very thorough answers to all your questions. Yes, they call you by your # at first visit, and you do often sit with a group of women waiting to be seen by their different staff members (as I see a few other's complaining about) - but do you know how many women they say per day? A lot. There are not many safe/affordable abortion clinics and it's not like this is something you can get done at your own OBGYN. So I didn't mind any of that. You go in for your initial visit one day, where you get an ultrasound, vitals done, talk to a counselor and decide which type of abortion you will go through. Your second visit (mine was the day after - every appointment I've made here they had available the next day), you pay for your procedure in full and either go through the surgery or pick up your pills. I didn't feel a thing during the surgical procedure years ago because of the IV sedation. They also give you medicine prior to, to calm your nerves - helped me tremendously. The only reason I chose the pill option this time, is because I wanted it to be in the comfort of my home - and I didn't want to have to tell anyone else about this. With the surgical option, you do need another person to accompany you for your ride home (due to the effects of IV sedation). I recovered fine from the surgery - I was back to doing "normal" things later that day. The pill is a two day process at home. You take the first pill at the doctor's office during your second visit, and you go about your normal day. The next day you take the second set of pills at home. They also provide pain meds/anti nausea/diarrhea meds. A few hours after taking the second set of pills, you cramp and bleed like a period or miscarriage, and it's over with by that night basically. The pain meds hardly made me feel a thing. I've had worse periods cramping wise (although I did bleed more with this). During the process I was still going about my normal activities for the most part, and the next day I went back to work. The fee you pay also includes a follow up visit, and a 2 year birth control prescription. Only down side, which they can't control just thank Texas.... There are protesters here sometimes on the weekend. I saw them on my first visit, just ignored them. The second visit I got lucky and missed them. I don't plan on ever having to go through this again - but if I ever had to, I would go back to Houston Women's Clinic and I recommend other ladies to them who are in need of the same services.

This place at first didn’t look good because it was just small and not in a hospital or a big office building but it is great!!!!!! The staff is just amazing. They are all the time trying to make you feel comfortable and Virginia is a rockstar counselor. I really appreciate all her time with me to just let me talk about how I was feeling and giving me lots of resources to help me get knowledge about the choices we have as women to support us.

Definitely stood out and was so understanding and genuinely helpful. The ladies in recovery on 4-2 were so sweet and helpful as well.

I had a great experience at the Houston Women’s Clinic. The nurses and counselors are very friendly and non judge-mental. The doctor is also friendly and knows what he is doing. I was told I was 4 weeks and chose to do surgical abortion without sedation due to having to drive myself. For my first appointment I was very scared and did not know what to expect. My appointment was on a Wednesday at 8:30am. Theirs security outside and some very nice volunteers that are there to help. Luckily on both appointments I didn’t see any protestors but I was told they are usually there Friday and Saturdays. Once you check in they call you back take the first payment of $50 and then you wait to get your ultrasound done. After they take your vitals and blood work. After that you speak to the counselor ask any questions you have and they explain everything very well, last step is to wait t see the doctor and he approves your second appointment. I was out by 10:30am.For my second appointment I was actually not as nervous because I knew what to expect and also knew how friendly everyone was there. I set up my second appointment for the following Monday at 10:00am to avoid protestors during the weekend. I was called back very quick and you make the second payment of $500. You then go back and wait to receive your medication after taking the medication I felt some very light cramps. At about 11:55 I was called in for the procedure. It was super quick the doctor was probably in the room 3 minutes max. I chose no sedation and honestly I feel like I made a great choice. The pain you feel is probably like a 6 from 1-10 and the pain only lasted about a minute. Once the procedure was done I sat in the resting room for about 10 minutes and I was so thankful to have chosen no sedation all the other girls looked out of it due to the sedation. The procedure is so fast that I honestly think it is not necessary to be sedated. I have just had light cramping throughout the day but nothing worse than my regular period cramps.
